This is where you can find a complete list of all of the ingredients that are used to formulate the products Sea Spray Cosmetics sells.

Activated Charcoal Powder:

 Activated charcoal is the perfect way to exfoliate dead skin cells from the body and also remove any excess dirt from pores. It has the ability to bind to and draw out excess oil and dirt from pores allowing for a much deeper clean.

                                                        

Almond Oil:

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil

EWG rating of: 1

 Almond oil is a very light weight oil perfect for almost all skin types. Its noncomedogenic, meaning it is much less likely to clog pores and cause breakouts or any other forms of skin irritation.

                                                     

Apricot Oil:

 Apricot oil helps to hydrate the skins outer layer due to the combination of the vitamin E and vitamin C in the oil. this allows for the skin to look more hydrated, replenished and refined.

 

Argan Oil:

Argania spinosa kernel oil

EWG rating of: 1

 Argan oil creates a thin moisture barrier over the surface of improving the overall look and texture of the skins surface. This can be used to help heal extremly dry skin and even heal eczema. 

 

Baking Soda:

sodium bicarbonate

 Baking soda is the perfect way to exfoliate skins surface and remove dead skin cells in a gentle manor. It can also be used to help soothe irritation or redness on the skins surface.

 

Beeswax:

EWG rating of: 1

Beeswax creates a protective barrier to help protect the skins surface from environmental toxins and from weather damage. It is the perfect addition to thicken moisturizes and is the go to wax in a lot of the formulas.

 

Black Currant Seed oil:

Ribes Nigrum Seed Oil

EWG rating of: 1

 Black currant seed oil has the ability to repair the skins surface due to it having such a high concentration of fatty acids present in its formula. The fatty acids re-hydrate the skins surface and help regulate oil production.

 

Bathsorb:

tapioca starch

EWG rating of: 1

 Bathsorb is a from of modified tapioca starch that ipmroves glide and reduces greasiness in products. This can be found in some of cream formulas to give them an impeccable feel.

 

Camellia Seed Oil:

Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil 

EWG rating of: 1

 Camellia seed oil has the ability to help stimulate collagen production in the skin due to the vitamin composition present in the oil. It is also non-comedogenic which means it is less likely to cause clogged pores. Comes from the seeds from a camellia bush.

 

Castor Oil:

Ricinus Communis Seed (Castor) Oil

EWG rating of: 2

 Castor oil is a very heavy moisturizer that is great for both skin care and hair care. This means it is more suited fir dry skin types as it deeply moisturizes and helps heal dryness on the surface of the skin. It also has the ability to slow down and even heal split ends to some extent in hair care.

 

Citric acid:

EWG rating of: 1-2 (depending on usage)

 Used to make products fizz when mixed with baking soda and placed in water. Can be found in the bath salt and also in the bath bomb.

 

Cocoa Butter:

Theobroma cacao Seed Butter

EWG rating of: 1

 Cocoa butter contains a high concentration of fat which helps form an extra protective layer on the outside of the skins surface. This helps to retain moisture for a longer period of time. It is also very rich in phytochemical.

 

Coconut Oil:

Cocos Nucifera Oil

EWG rating of: 1

 Coconut oil is extremely good for skin care, it is a light moisturizer but also contains anti-inflammatory and also prevent infections. It also has the ability to improve collagen production in skin making it appear more supple over time.

 

Corn Starch:

Zea Mays Starch

EWG rating of: 1

 Corn starch contains lots of different beneficial ingredients such as vitamin A, calcium and iron. Typically used in products to change the texture, to give it the proper glide or texture the product is supposed to have.

 

Cream of Tartar:

Potassium Bitartrate

 Cream of tartar can be used in bath scrubs as a gently exfoliator and also to help improve fizziness and texture of bath bombs so they harden correctly.

 

Dendritic Salt:

 Dendritic salt is a small grain a slat that has a maximum amount of surface area exposed which allows it to absorbs twice the amount of oil of regular bath salts. This allows it to hold a lot more fragrance when used in bath salt recipes.

 

Epsom Salt:

 Epsom salt helps to soften skin and even has the ability to exfoliate skin and remove dead skin cells. It also contains a high level of magnesium which is great for the body and also has the ability to relax the mind and body when used in a bath as a soak.

 

Geogard ECT:

Benzyl Alcohol & Salicylic Acid & Glycerin & Sorbic Acid

EWG rating of: 1-2 (depeding on usage)

Geogard ECT is a combination of ingredients including Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Sorbic Acid, and Glycerin. This product is used as preservative in any water containing products that are sold to make sure there is no unwanted bacterial growth in it when used.

 

Glycerin:

EWG rating of: 1-2 (depending on usage)

 Glycerin is a humectant , this means when used in skincare it has the ability to draw water from the surrounding environment. This helps to soften and sooth skin and makes it the perfect ingredient in moisturizing creams.

 

Hemp Seed Oil (refined):

Cannabis sativa Seed Oil 

EWG rating of: 1-2 (depending on usage)

 Hemp seed oil is right in omega- 6 fatty acids that provide anti-inflammatory properties to the skin when used in skincare. This has the ability to repair skins surface if you surfer from simple issues such as dryness. acne or eczema. 

 

Jojoba Seed oil:

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil

EWG rating of: 1

 Jojoba oil is extracted from the nut of the jojoba plant. It is extremely moisturizing and has a low hardening point. Often added to products to make then thicker when fully set. It is also amazing at moisturizing the skins surface.

 

Lanolin:

EWG rating of: 1

 Lanolin has the ability to mimic lipids in the skin making this the best way to moisturize and replenish the skins moisture barrier. It is an emollient, meaning it forms a barrier preventing skin from losing moisture content when applied to skins surface.

 

Lavender essential oil:

EWG rating of: 2

 Lavender essential oil is used for its relaxing abilities when inhaled.

 

Mango Butter:

Mangifera Indica (mango) Seed Butter

EWG rating of: 1

Mango butter is the perfect light weight way to help plump and soften skin as well as heal minor skin irritations. Mango butter is a little bit better for dry skin because it contains a higher concentration of fatty acids which helps to regulate oil production in skin.

 

Mica:

EWG rating of: 2

 Used to provide sparkle in the recipes that are sold, only the less toxic micas are used to formulate with in order to keep extreme toxins out of the products sold by Sea Spray Cosmetics

 

Olivem 1000:

Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate

EWG rating of: 1

 One of the ingredients in the emulsifier used in the products to help stabilize water and oil together in a dispersion.

 

Oxide:

EWG rating of: 3

 Oxides are the pigments used to give the products their color such as cream highlighter, blush and the lip gloss recipes. Only the more natural products are used that is why there are very few bright colors found sold here  and that's because they really are not good for us.

 

Rose absolute 10%:

Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (and) Rosa damascena (Flower) Oil

 Rose absolute has the ability to counteract aging over time by smoothing skin which reduces signs of wrinkles. 

 

Sea Salt:

EWG rating of: 1

 Sea salt is an okay exfoliator but is more of an amazing relaxing ingredient. This product can be found in the bath salt recipe. Salt soaks can provide the body with physical and mental health benefits Included but not limited to migraines and body aches.

 

Shea Butter:

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter

EWG rating of: 1

 Shea butter is loaded fully of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory agents that allow skin to repair itself so it retains moisture. It is also just amazing at moisturizing skin.

 

Witch Hazel distillate:

Hamamelis Virginiana Leaf Extract

Xanthan Gum:

 Xanthan gum is used as a thickener and also as a co-emulsifier in the moisturizing cream. This allows for additional stability in the formula making it thicker and creamier.

 

Vitamin E oil:

Vitamin E oil is used to help prolong the shelf life of the oils used in the formula and also to help heal skins appearance. Only the most naturally derive vitamin e oil is used in the products in order to maintain the best quality.
